The Tillage: Agrarian Rituals in the Heartland  -  Selected work from 2018 to present

The Tillage: Agrarian Rituals in the Heartland, is a series of paintings that explore our diminishing agricultural landscape that established the foundation and expansion of our country; a fabric of community and cultural practice that created a unique architectural vernacular and geomorphology that defines the American Landscape.  Hidden within the fabric of our agricultural heritage and subsequent urbanization of this landscape, are the institutional laws of segregation and the unequal division of land fostered by government institutions and racial discrimination.
